"I did it all by myself"

“I did it all by myself”

Ever since she was little, she has always wanted to open this door. It is the door that leads to her seat in the car. When she was little, and could not reach the handle, I would hold her in my arms and let her “pull” the door open.

After awhile, she was able to reach the door, but would be so frustrated she would not be able to pull the door open. She would get help and became frustrated stating, “I WANTED TO DO IT MYSELF!!!”

As the years went on, she would get so close, and only needing help with a smidge. She would say, “I did it all by myself, with just a little help.” Her smile would be on her face because she was getting closer.

Well today, I was locking the house door, and told her to try to open the door to the car thinking to myself, “This will keep her busy for a minute.” Then all of a sudden I look over, THE CAR DOOR IS OPEN!

“I did it all by MYSELF!!!” I told her how proud I am of her, and we cheered and hugged. She was so excited, and told all of her teachers.

It is something you don’t think of celebrating, but she has been working at this one goal from a very young age, and she finally accomplished it.

This is a proud Mom Moment!
